SBJ wrote the following on SummerSlam:
“Last summer’s WWE SummerSlam event in Las Vegas – the first at an NFL stadium and the first full-capacity event at Allegiant Stadium – brought together more than 51,000 fans, making it the highest attendance indoors for WWE’s highest-attended event and event of 2021. This attendance quickly convinced WWE to return to Allegiant on the weekend of July 4, 2022, hosting a second event – Money in the Bank – at the home of the Raiders. The return of John Cena and Brock Lesnar helped SummerSlam break several records, including becoming the most-watched and highest-grossing SummerSlam in WWE history. The WWE Chairman and CRO Nick Khan also cited the event as a successful execution of their decision to move some pay-per-views to Saturday nights.
The winners of the 15th annual Sports Business Awards will be announced May 18 at an awards show at the New York Marriott Marquis, marking a return to in-person celebration for the first time in two years due to COVID-19. Full reward details can be found at this link.
