Can a squirrel score a touchdown? Does it count against you if a seagull tries to steal your golf ball? There have been many instances where animals have distracted players’ attention during sporting events. Hilarious and at times infuriating, these moments make the game more memorable for both fans and gamers alike.

Cat Falls from Top Deck at Hard Rock Stadium: September 11, 2021

The Miami Hurricanes college football team gained national attention not for the games they played in their game against the Appalachian State Mountaineers, but because a cat was hanging onto a power cable for the life in the stands. Fans watched in terror as the cat swayed, only hanging on with its front paws, until it finally fell. The fans under the cat, thankfully, had a large fabric American flag they were holding out, and against all odds, they grabbed the cat and heroically lifted it up for all fans to see. The capture was even noted by the play-by-play announcer for the game. The cat, nicknamed Mufasa due to its downfall, sparked many jokes both in the game and on the internet in the days that followed.

Game delayed by a swarm of bees: May 6, 2019

A swarm of thousands of bees has delayed a baseball game between the Reds and Giants. Local beekeepers suspected the swarm must have a beehive somewhere in the stadium and were looking to expand. Several guests and players were stung before officials delayed the match and called in workers to extract the bees, which had set up a beehive near their home base. Oddly enough, this was not the first Reds vs. Giants game delayed by swarms of bees. According to the Associated Press, in 1976, thousands of bees had to be removed from the stadium during a match between the two teams.

Squirrel scores touchdown: September 23, 2017

A squirrel made history after crossing the football field and reaching the touchdown zone. The squirrel did a 40-yard run in the Louisville v Kent State football game and clung to the grass in the end zone as players and fans cheered for his success. After scoring the touchdown, the squirrel was taken off the field, but it triggered one of the most popular moments in the video where the animals took attention away from the game.

Seagull Mistakes Golf Ball For Food: August 22, 2021

The Women’s British Open 2021 took place on a seaside golf course established in the 1800s. During play, however, there were quite a few unexpected players on the course, including several seagulls diving overhead. . One of them even tried to steal the golf ball from player Madelene Sagström. Many watched in wonder as the bird attempted to lift the golf ball into its mouth. While it ultimately failed and flew away, it made everyone who watched it laugh.
