The SFI has slammed the ABVP for staging sporting events as Covid cases rise day by day in the state. Stating that the whole country was in trouble because of the recent surge, SFI criticized ABVP for holding a kabaddi meeting at Kotshera College and planning another at RKMV. The student body also questioned the college principal for allowing the sporting event to proceed at a time when all educational institutions were closed. The SFI said action should be taken against ABVP and the principal under the Disaster Management Act.
HPU to have a printing press
Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) will set up its own printing press, which will save a lot of money for printing study materials, journals, papers, books, etc. The university says it would be a one-time investment, saving a lot of money for the university in years to come. The demand for the printing house had also been increased earlier, but the project could not start due to financial constraints.
Holding of the Environment Youth Parliament
The National Youth Parliament for Environment 2022 – “Nurturing Environment Leaders” – was organized by Paryavaran Sanrakshan Gatividhi (PSG) at the all-India level to sensitize the youth on the issue. The event was opened by the Chancellor of Shoolini University, Prof. Prem Kumar Khosla, who spoke about the importance of the Sustainable Development Goals and the initiative taken by the university. Pradeep Sangwan, founder of Healing Himalayas, who has done tremendous work cleaning up the Himalayan belt, was the guest of honour. Abhishek Kumar Gupta, Faculty of Management Science, Agamroop Kaur and Ananya Manishi, Department of Biotechnology, Ankush Kumar, Faculty of Basic Engineering, and Mansha Goel, Faculty of Legal Science, were chosen for the next round to represent the university.
