United Arab Emirates – The eighth season of the Nad Al Sheba sports tournament will take place during the holy month of Ramadan, organizers said on Wednesday.
The event will be organized with strict health protocols in place for the safety of everyone involved.
Organized by the Dubai Sports Council, the NAS Sports Tournament is the largest event of its kind in terms of participation and prize money, and has been held annually during the holy month of Ramadan since 2013 at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex.
The event did not take place last year due to the Covid-19 epidemic.
This year’s tournament will feature three sports – padel, running and cycling – and competition in each of those sports will feature multiple categories.
Registration for the NAS Padel Championship will begin from March 21 on the tournament’s official website, www.nasst.ae, and the official Dubai Sports Council website – www.dubaisc.ae – while registration for the cycling and running championship will open from 23 March.
The NAS Run will feature races in different categories over two distances – 5 km and 10 km. Registration for the event will remain open until April 25.
The running event is open to all men and women living in the UAE, but those participating in the 10K run must be 17 years of age or older, while the 5K run is open to participants aged 15 or over.
The NAS 75km Cycling Championship will also attend competitions in several categories such as Men’s Open, People of Determination category, Women’s Open, Emirati Amateur and Female Amateur. There will also be a shorter 20 km race for juniors.
Meanwhile, the NAS Padel Championships will take place on the majestic courts of the Nad Al Sheba sports complex.
