Mandurah Action Sports Games will be split over two weekends due to wet weather

The Mandurah Action Sports Games will now take place over two separate weekends due to heavy rain expected on Saturday and Sunday.

The skate, BMX, scooter and freestyle motocross competitions have been moved to the weekend of May 14 and 15.

The wakeboard event on the west foreshore will still take place this Sunday, March 27.

“We are delighted to be hosting this prestigious event in Mandurah and it is unfortunate that the forecast is not in our favor, but the weather is perfect for the wakeboard tournament and Mandurah will get a double with Skate, BMX, Scooter and Freestyle The motocross returns May 14 and 15,” said event manager Tim Thirsk.

This Sunday, reigning wakeboard and local Secret Harbor champion Riley Middleton will face champions like Callan Starr and Ben Heatly.

Pro wakeboarders Charlie Shore (Qld) and Mackenzie McCarthy (Qld) will also travel west to compete in the women’s open wakeboard event.

The Action Sports Games combine wakeboarding, skateboarding, freestyle BMX, scooter and freestyle motocross (FMX) demonstrations with athletes competing for a combined overall prize pool of over $20,000 in cash and prizes.
