Cedar Point Sports Center voted best venue for indoor sporting events – Morning Journal

Sports Events Media Group, the industry’s leading publication focused exclusively on helping sports event planners produce great competitions in the United States, announced that for the second consecutive year, Cedar Point Sports Center has received the Choice Award as the best All-Star Indoor Sports Venue by its readers, according to a press release published on February 24.

The 145,000 square foot indoor venue features 10 basketball courts convertible to 20 volleyball courts, an elevated indoor walking track, cafe space, halls and party and event space, and a center family entertainment with a climbing zone, a ninja course and arcade games. .

In 2021, the Cedar Point Sports Center exceeded expectations while adhering to strict coronavirus pandemic guidelines and mandates, such as spectator capacity limitations, state and local governing bodies, according to the release.

Despite these restrictions, Cedar Point Sports Center has held 42 tournaments in various sports, including volleyball, basketball, wrestling, cheer and dance, futsal and stick twirling, according to the statement.

It hosted 3,705 teams totaling 38,526 participating athletes and accumulated 51,193 spectators.

Within the community, the Cedar Point Sports Center serves as a venue for community clubs and schools to hold practices and games, according to the statement.

The sports center partners with North Coast Showtime, a local youth basketball and volleyball organization, as the club’s home venue, and three schools use the site for their basketball programs fourth year.

Additionally, the sports center hosts youth sports leagues, camps and sports clinics throughout the year for local athletes, according to the release.

The center also hosts non-sporting events including Best of the Bay, a foodie competition featuring local vendors, music events featuring DRUMLine Live and the Firelands Symphony Orchestra, and many other community events, according to the release.
